There are many different ways you can use palette knife in your painting. A very simple and effective way is to use the knife to add texture. In this particular painting I will be creating abstract painting of roses. I will use my palette knife creating each individual rose.
- First, you will need to create some type of background. I chose to create it using plastic wrap and 2 colors black and white.
- After your background is ready, make a decision on which colors you’d like to work with. For my roses I chose to go with crimson red, prime red, pink, black and white.
- You can add more color hues by mixing colors with one another as shown in the screenshots down below.
- To load your palette knife simply scoop the color you’d like to add and start creating your beautiful rose.
- When creating roses be sure to leave space between each petal.
- Repeat each step for each individual rose, varying it in colors and size.
- To spice this painting up, I used #0 liner brush to add squiggly lines around the roses bouquet.
- Finally sprinkling it with loaded oval brush and white paint.
